I can do pretty much everything, but most of the day it's a whole lot of watching, making sure demands are met, populations and statistics kept in check, and the world balanced. [04:14] <&Hebizuka> You see, what you may have witnessed out there... the whole human-youkai thing, the cops and the criminals, the angels and the demons, none of it was intentional. I may have planted the creatures originally but I have let them develop into orders, societies, groups. [04:15] <&Hebizuka> You could say that I'm above even the Gods of this realm... But I don't really do much anymore. I mostly watch. [04:15] <&Hebizuka> And then there's you. The Contestant. [04:15] <&Hebizuka> You've chosen not to return home, or into the Mazes. [04:20] <&Hebizuka> You may think, and you could be right to think that way, that this term exists because of the prophecy that was crafted by the shrine maidens of the Cardinal Faith, something like 700 years ago. 704, if I remember correctly. [04:21] <&Hebizuka> 704 years, 4 months and 5 days after that prophecy was made, you showed up. [04:21] <&Hebizuka> In actuality, this is made up. I've invented the story and "passed" it down to the first mikos, who then spread it as part of their faith. [04:22] <&Hebizuka> The real meaning of the term Contestant is because you are, or rather, have been and successfully fought through all the challenges you've gone through, because it was my plan that you would accept the missions, pull through, and defeat your opposition, from the first hellhound you killed, to the Four Horsemen today. [04:23] <&Hebizuka> And that you have been tested for your potential worth. [04:24] <Tasia> "To what end?" [04:24] <&Hebizuka> You were chosen because you came from another world, and your life arrived to an untimely death, but despite that, you had the potential of a leader. You see, between each universe possible, there is a space between all of them - which is why it's called the Interloper. In it, the Mazes exist. I've experimented with creatures, with things, with technologies and societies and cultures from hundreds of other worlds, which the Entity let me visit so I could draw ideas out.
