The other currently active quests are S1-3 and M04, both on Objective 1. You are currently in the town of Arnett, still inside the shooting range, at one of the lanes._ _What to do next is up to you, though here's a reminder of the current quests:_

S1-3 - Come a Huntin' Man 1) Go to Arnett's Diner, and meet with the chef

M04 - The Power to Begin Again 1) Go to Joliet Sector, and ask the locals for information regarding the Amulet of the East

The kitchen is one room to the north._

I'm often running low on supplies, especially meat, because there's little time for me to go out and restock. It's a damn pain, lemme tell you!
    • [Bill]** So here's what I'd like you to do. I'll teach you how to hunt and how to butcher meat from animals and creatures in the UA. In exchange, I want you to bring me at least 20 units of meat, and I'll pay you double their normal value for it. If you can carry and bring more, by all means, I'll accept everything you've got. Butchering sounds like a pretty useful thing to learn... I mean, at least until I decide to develop a taste for living flesh, right?" She forces a snicker._


[22-Jul-18 11:20 PM] Tempest#5018 _The chef responds with a chuckle, then you're being told about the basics of hunting and butchering..._ Hunting basics:

Hunting isn't an activity per se; it is something you can do as part of regular combat. After combat, once the creatures you were aiming for are dead, you have the possibility to **butcher** them, so long as you meet certain requirements: > Having a **Butchering** weapon (typically a bladed weapon suitable for cutting meat) > The dead creature must still have some **limb health points** in the BODY category.

Creatures you wish to hunt for meat must be targeted in body parts other than those in the BODY region - as the amount of meat directly depends on the amount of limb HP they had in that area. You can attack or shoot the HEAD, LIMB, EXTREMITY groups without penalty; however and as you might imagine, this does make combat a little trickier. Adapting your weapons and your strategy for hunting may therefore be ncessary.

Once you have a dead creature to harvest, simply declare that you wish to butcher it. It will require one turn per creature, and you will harvest an amount of meat that depends on the remaining limb HP, and on your Hunting skill. The more skilled you are, the more meat you can extract. Any questions?
