A Physionomical code (or just Physio code) is a randomly-generated code that determines the physical appearance of humans and certain youkai in Mazeworld.

Generation of a Physio code is usually done by the game master, in response to a contestant trying to observe a character, or a player requesting a character's description.

In certain unique cases, the physio code may list zeroes (0) ; this denotes custom specifications. It is generally reserved for unique characters.

Human physio codes

It is comprised of 10 numbers.

Second number - Skin color and morphological group

In the Mazes, the scientific denomination to differentiate the various human skin colors and morphological groups is to use gem names. The gem names are referred to on the left of the slash symbol. On the right is the name of its real-life ethnic group equivalence. These real-life names are used for reference purposes, and are never used in-universe.

Halflings

Halflings, which are beings close to humans but with certain animal features, can be described using the human physio code. Two extra numbers exist at the end of the human physio code:

  • The 11th number rolls species, whether or not the generated character is indeed human, or any one of the existing halfling species in the Mazes.
  • The 12th number rolls halfling-specific features. See below for the full list.

If the 11th number rolls "Human", the 11th and 12th number can be omitted from the physio code. As such, if a physio code with only 10 numbers is found, that character is human, and not halfling.

11th number: Species check

This distribution gives roughly 69.4% chances to roll a human, and 30.6% chances to roll any one of the ten halfling species in the Mazes (~2.77% per species).

1-25: Human 26: Cat-person 27: Dog-person 28: Wolf-person 29: Fox-person 30: Rabbit-person 31: Mouse-person 32: Rat-person 33: Lizard-person 34: Snake-person 35: Frog-person 36: Horse-person

It is comprised of 6 numbers, plus a 7th particular one which only applies to certain species. The first six numbers apply to ALL non-wicked youkai.

The seventh number varies depending on which species is concerned.

  • For Doji and Yousei, it generates their fairy wing color.
  • For Hakutaku, it generates their horn shape.
  • For Jorougumo, it generates their body and legs color.
  • For Kappa, it generates their skin color.
  • For Kasha, it generates their cat ears and tail color.
  • For Kirin and Nure-onna, it generates their tail and scale color.
  • For Kitsune and Guhin, it generates their tail(s) color.
  • For Oni, Kishin, Amanozako and Ushi-oni, it generates their skin color.
  • For Satori, it generates their third eye's color.
  • For Tengu, it generates their feather color.
  • All unlisted non-wicked youkai species ignore the 7th number.
  • It must be noted that age also determines the amount of tails kitsune have. They will have one tail + one extra tail for every 100 years of age, to a maximum of 9, which they attain when they reach 800 years old.
