The 7.62x25mm Tokarev (also known as simply 7.62mm Tokarev) is a handgun cartridge developed in 1930 by the Soviet Union. It is a somewhat rare cartridge used in handguns and submachine guns. It is considered a low-tier caliber due to its relatively low power, but is known for its surprising performance against body armor compared to other pistol rounds of similar power.
