Incendiary slugs are a type of load for 12 gauge shotgun shells.
In a sense, slugs can be compared to bullets, as they are essentially hunks of rifled lead made to mimic the performance of a traditional rifle. In terms of performance, it fares pretty well and delivers very respectable power, although at a somewhat low muzzle velocity.
Incendiary slugs, as the name implies, are similar to standard slugs, though they are hollow-points instead of solid. Inside of the hollow cavity, these slugs carry a small charge of a highly flammable, magnesium-based compound which ignites when the slug strikes a target, instantly setting it on fire.
