Performing a stealth attack is one of the contestant's abilities.

A contestant needs to have taken cover successfully, so his/her enemy did not notice him/her, and own a weapon that is either naturally silent, or equipped with a silencer. If the contestant met both of those requirements, he/she can attempt a stealth attack - which as the name suggests, is meant to preserve stealth.

  • Note: If the Contestant has allies, the allies taking cover must also be successful. A single failure among the Contestant's group means the entire side will break stealth.
  • Note 2: The Contestant will break stealth if they enter a Side where an enemy is located for any reason. This includes the rare possibility of entering a room on the same side as an enemy ; in such situations, stealth will be broken.

Using a silenced weapon, the contestant can attempt shooting at his/her foe from behind her cover, and remain stealthy. The enemy is likely to hear (and be hurt) by the shot, but will not know where the shot came from, until the contestant busts his/her cover or uses a weapon that isn't silenced. This can be useful as even if the contestant misses his/her shot, he/she will remain hidden and the encounter is likely to not attack.

Stealth may play a role during certain quests.

Non-firearms: It is possible to use the techniques described above to attempt a stealth kill with a melee weapon, such as with a knife. It is noticeably riskier, as if dice are against the contestant, he/she will be noticed and the foe will attack. On the other hand, if successful, the attack will do damage as normal; it is recommended to hit a weak point if the attack is done that way, to ensure stealth. Ranged Class 5 weapons, such as the Bow, are also considered stealthy by default.

Beware to users of weapon lights and laser sights. A weapon light turned on will break stealth immediately, as light easily draws attention. A laser sight will break stealth as well if the red dot is noticed by another encounter.
