The 9x19mm Parabellum (also known as simply 9x19mm Para) is a very popular handgun cartridge developed in 1901 by Georg Luger. It is a very common cartridge used in handguns and submachine guns.

Created in 1901 by Georg Luger, the 9x19mm Parabellum is the cartridge most commonly referred to when the loose term "9mm" is employed. Also known as 9mm Luger, to differentiate it from other popular cartridges such as 9mm Makarov or 9mm Browning (.380 ACP), the 9x19mm Parabellum caliber is the most popular military handgun cartridge in the world, used in practically all countries in the world and declined in several variants (+P and +P+ over-pressure, 9mm NATO with more powerful loads used by military forces, 9mm SESAMS "simunitions" used for ultra-realistic simulations, and so on.)

Georg Luger developed this cartridge based on an earlier design, the 7.62x25mm Parabellum, a cartridge similar to its Russian counterpart, the 7.62x25mm Tokarev. The round was presented in 1902 to the British Arms Committee, then in 1903 to the US Army. The German Navy adopted the cartridge in 1904, and two years later, the Army as well. The popularity of this cartridge increased greatly after World War I; 9mm pistols and submachine guns were widely employed as the main weapons and sidearms of most armies and police forces in the world of then. The cartridge went on to become the most used military handgun cartridge in the world since then.

How to read this?

A very common caliber in Mazeworld, the 9x19mm Para caliber enjoys high availability, used in many weapons of the game. It is considered a low-tier caliber due to its low power, being only the 23rd most powerful caliber in the game (7th lowest), requiring at best three shots to kill an enemy (outside of shots to weak points and limbs).

The round is best used as a finisher, or a self-defense round if the primary intention of the contestant is only to injure, damage without killing, or finish off an already wounded opponent.

The main advantage of the 9x19mm Para caliber is its very high availability, and in turn, compatibility. Suited for no less than 26 weapons, including a grand majority of Class 2 weapons, as well as a high amount of Class 3 ones. This is an impossible-to-miss round, which can be found in surprising quantities - it is best advised to pick up the ammunition off weapons found at random or off the dead enemies'.

Buying ammunition isn't a bad idea either; it is cheap. At the very cheap price of 1 P$ a round, and available in 50-round or 250-round boxes, choosing to buy 9x19mm Para at a gun shop or a weapon shop isn't a bad deal either. It may also be found in several supply crates:
