CAWS flechette is a type of load for the special-purpose 12 gauge belted cartridge developed by Heckler & Koch and Olin/Winchester for use in the Heckler & Koch CAWS. It is a non-conventional flechette shotgun shell.

The variant used in Mazeworld uses 1 inch long flechettes made of tungsten, and is based on a purely theoretical load which was only mentioned in passing as a possible future plan for CAWS shell loads. For all intents and purposes, it does not exist, even as a prototype, in real life. We have included it to offer more ammunition types for the CAWS.

CAWS flechette is a projectile type for 12 gauge CAWS shells. CAWS flechette shells contain 20 fin-stabilized flechettes made out of tungsten. Each flechette is roughly 1 inch in length. Though similar to their regular counterparts, CAWS flechette shells propel their payload at a higher velocity, thus allowing the flechettes to do more damage.

The above chart applies for ONE flechette, and may be multiplied by the amount of flechette that hit the target (up to 20). How to read this?

 • Retail value of a CAWS flechette shell: 15 P$ /round (SP) ; 14 P$ /round (TAC) ; 17 P$ /round (MAG)

Usage notes

Flechette is a multiple-projectile type of ammunition, meaning that if the shot fired is a hit, this ammunition type is capable of inflicting multiple hits. CAWS flechette has the following effects:

 • FT-1
 • Shell contains 20 projectiles ; On a successful hit, 1d20 projectiles may hit the target.
