A Contestant, and effectively, any encounter with a mobile phone, can call a contact.

Contact calling is primarily useful in the context of Quests.

It is possible for a Contestant to meet random people in the Mazes and acquire their phone numbers and contact information. Any kind of encounter susceptible of using a mobile phone, can have one and in turn, have a phone number. The call can be about anything, and the contacts can have any conversation the Contestant desires to have. The Contestant may only receive calls in certain circumstances only, which are generally rare.

Depending on the contact and on the current situation, the Contestant may request the contact to meet him/her at his/her current location; this is a request for backup.

  • Certain contacts may never be called as backup, no matter the situation.
  • Certain contacts may only accept a backup request under certain circumstances, for example, during a relevant Quest or if specific conditions are met.
  • Certain contacts may always accept a backup request, and will show up at the Contestant's will.

If a backup request from a contact is successful, ETA may vary depending on the contact and the situation. A full list of contacts and their phone numbers is available here.
