*The drawback: Whereas single-projectile ammunition almost always deal the same amount of damage, multiple-projectile ammunition doesn't, because the full load of projectiles rarely ALL hit the target, unless the contestant scores 12, in which case they do all hit. Because of this, the failure threshold is not useful - only your actual dice score is.

** 12 gauge version: 20 projectiles ; On a successful hit, 1d20 projectiles may hit the target.

*Avoiding heavily armored targets, unless the contestant is positively sure to hit a lesser-armored weak point.

Flechette is also capable of bypassing bullet-proof clothes, allowing it to damage clothing with this trait. In that regard, it can be thought of as an armor-piercing shell type.
-
*It must be noted that failure threshold modifiers work differently with multiple-projectile ammunition than with single-projectile ammunition, since the amount of projectiles hitting the target depends on the dice score itself. For every increased accuracy (FT-1) occurrence, add 1 to the dice score. Likewise, for every decreased accuracy (FT+1) occurrence, subtract 1 to the dice score.
+
-
**Should the modified result ends up being 12 or greater, it counts as a critical hit of a natural 12. Likewise, if the modified result ends up being 2 or less, it counts as a critical failure of a natural 2.

Flechette (also known as Flech) is a projectile type for 12 gauge and .410 bore shotgun shells. Flechette shells contain several fin-stabilized flechettes made out of tungsten, designed to defeat armor and pierce metal. Each flechette is roughly 1 inch long.

The above chart applies for ONE flechette, and may be multiplied by the amount of flechette that hit the target (up to 20). How to read this?

  • Retail value of a flechette shell: 7 P$ /round (SP)
  • Affects the firearm's Wear rate: Condition x2, Cleanliness x1

Usage notes

Flechette is a multiple-projectile type of ammunition, meaning that if the shot fired is a hit, this ammunition type is capable of inflicting multiple hits. Flechette has the following effects:

  • FT-1
  • Shell contains multiple projectiles:
    • 12 gauge version: 20 projectiles ; On a successful hit, 1d20 projectiles may hit the target.
    • .410 bore version: 10 projectiles ; On a successful hit, 1d10 projectiles may hit the target.

Flechette is also capable of bypassing bullet-proof clothes, allowing it to damage clothing with this trait. In that regard, it can be thought of as an armor-piercing shell type.
