Incendiary slug (also known as I-Slug) is a projectile type for 12 gauge shotgun shells. 12 gauge incendiary slug shells contain a single, special projectile similar to a standard Slug, but augmented with a highly flammable magnesium-based compound, designated MgX charges for "magnesium explosive charge". Each shell contains about 2 MgX charges. This compound ignites upon impact, which can set targets on fire.
