The Maze Customs is a weapon customization atelier available in every Workshop of Mazeworld. A Customs atelier is not a shop in itself; every engineer can perform Customs work, as part of products and services sold in a workshop. For rules on how workshops function, see the relevant article.

In a Customs atelier, there are two major customization jobs that are proposed: Ammunition services and Weapon customization. While they are considered separate enough, their usefulness overlap, as products in either service can affect those in another.

Ammunition services

Full article: Customs:Ammunition

Ammunition customization services consist in converting rounds of pistol or rifle ammunition from one type to another. Various types exist, and while there is a small chance to find non-standard ammo at random, buying conversions in a Customs atelier is the easiest method to obtain specific types of ammunition.
Pistol and rifle calibers have different kinds of ammunition types available - the ammo types available for pistol calibers aren't the same as those available for rifle calibers. To know whether a specific caliber is considered a pistol or a rifle caliber, refer to the Ammunition page.

NOTE: The Customs ammunition service will only convert pistol and rifle ammunition. The different variants of shotgun shells, grenade launcher ammunition and such, are available already in gun shops, weapon shops, and other such outlets.

Weapon customization

Weapon customization services rely on the principle of weapon families - specific firearms belonging to the same family (typically they share the same base design) are eligible for extensive customization, due to innate design and/or popularity of the platform. There are 10 firearm families which can receive various types of modifications.
Firearms may also be customized visually - they simply serve to give a more unique description to the firearm, with the use of paint jobs and color schemes. Visual modifications can be done on any weapon, even if it doesn't belong to one of the Customs families, and bear no influence on the actual performance of the weapon.
