Log:V4 Session 121 (Meta, no ontology)

From Mazeworld

[12-Sep-18 11:04 PM] Tempest#5018 [Session #121 ; Session start] _Welcome back to the Mazes, Pinkie. On the last session, you just finished all of the Tier 1 sidequests. This means that now, Tier 2 sidequests are available to you. The only currently active quest is **M04**._ M04 Objective 1: Go to Joliet Sector, and ask the locals for information regarding the Amulet of the East.

[12-Sep-18 11:09 PM] That One Lass#8377 I'm at a hiring bureau, right?

[12-Sep-18 11:09 PM] Tempest#5018 You are in the kitchen of the Arnett Diner, at the moment. You can go to the Bureau instead. If you'd like.

[12-Sep-18 11:11 PM] That One Lass#8377 Well, let's head on over to the bureau, then!

[12-Sep-18 11:14 PM] Tempest#5018 Nevermind my last! We made it there already last time, it seems. _The hirer is at his desk, behind the computer, with yet more empty cups of coffee. He's at least managing to look awake._

[12-Sep-18 11:19 PM] That One Lass#8377 "Hiya! I'm Pinkie! Any jobs available?" I bounce on over to the hirer, and grin at him.

[12-Sep-18 11:26 PM] Tempest#5018

    • [Hirer]** _<yawn>_ Hi again. Gods, I hate the day shift. Yeah, I should have a few jobs for you...

> **S2-1**: Job in Semitas > **S2-2**: Job in Semitas > **S2-3**: Job in Garica Block > **S2-4**: Job in Joliet Sector > **S2-5**: Job in Heshbar

[12-Sep-18 11:38 PM] That One Lass#8377 I'm gonna inquire about all of the jobs!

[12-Sep-18 11:41 PM] Tempest#5018 S2-1: An introduction to Trading Missions, with a delivery to make from Arnett to Semitas. S2-2: An introduction to Mercenary Contracts, with targets to eliminate in Semitas. S2-3: Former gangster, turned scavenger, needs help breaking into a loot cache in the UA, and is willing to pay in lockpicking lessons and loot. S2-4: Retired Maze Guard known as "Master Powder" is willing to offer accelerated lessons on handloading, on the condition that a small fee is paid. S2-5: Administrator at Heshbar Mines is calling "any and all interested private parties" to inform them that they are willing to train people in the field of mining, in order to alleviate current personnel shortages. Bonus incentive: You can keep what you mine out. _I'm keeping it short so you get the idea, but if you really want to, you can have a chat with the Hirer about each job, in full._ _Which do you want to take on?_

[13-Sep-18 12:52 AM] That One Lass#8377 Oooh, neat. I'll take on all five, if possible!

[13-Sep-18 12:57 AM] Tempest#5018

    • [Hirer]** All five? Sheesh, you sure like to get things done.

[13-Sep-18 12:58 AM] That One Lass#8377 "Yup!"

[13-Sep-18 01:00 AM] Tempest#5018

    • S2-1**: Special delivery

> objective 1: Head to the Arnett bank to retrieve the package, then deliver the package to its intended destination

    • S2-2**: Appetite for Destruction

> objective 1: Find and eliminate the targets

    • S2-3**: Hidden Treasures

> objective 1: Meet the scavenger at the Mad Jack's bar in Garica Block

    • S2-4**: Old Load

> objective 1: Find "Master Powder" at Joliet Ales and Drinks, in Joliet Sector. Don't forget to bring 50 rounds of 9x19mm, Standard FMJ, plus 300 P$.

    • S2-5**: What mine is mine?

> objective 1: Meet Joe Sutter ,the mine administrator at Heshbar Mines _Before you go, a couple of warnings._ _If you go and take the package for S2-1, you will not be able to skip-travel, because this is your introduction to Trading Missions, also known as Courier jobs. While you're carrying a package for a courier job, you have to travel through the UA and there is an increased chance of meeting enemies the longer you stay in the UA. So, deliver that package as quickly and safely as possible, and only when ready to make the trip._ _S2-2 is an introduction to Mercenary contracts. Though you can skip-travel while one of these is active, you are specifically instructed to **eliminate** the targets, failure of which you will not get paid._ _The other quests are standard quests, where you can take your time._

[13-Sep-18 01:13 AM] That One Lass#8377 Alrighty then! Do either of those two quests have a time limit to start and finish?

[13-Sep-18 01:15 AM] Tempest#5018 Nope, you can finish any of them at any time.

[13-Sep-18 01:18 AM] That One Lass#8377 Alright, sweet. "Thankya, I'll be off!" I say, and pop back out of the bureau and head on over to the bank to start on that bank mission! I'll get the trading mission AND the merc contract done in quick succession! Woohoo.

[13-Sep-18 01:35 AM] Tempest#5018 _You leave the hiring bureau, and travel just 3 rooms away..._ [Arnett - Bank] _You see three Town Security officers, and a banker behind the desk._

[13-Sep-18 01:54 AM] That One Lass#8377 I pop on over to the desk and wave. "Hiya! I'm Pinkie, and I've got a job to transport something from here! Though I hope it's not a chip. I don't wanna get shot in the head."

[13-Sep-18 01:55 AM] Tempest#5018

    • [Banker]** Ah, hello. No, no, it's not a chip. It's a shipment of canned chicken. 20 units. Is this your first courier job?

[13-Sep-18 01:56 AM] That One Lass#8377 "Yup!"

[13-Sep-18 01:57 AM] Tempest#5018 _Trading Missions are jobs where you transport a locked container (cargo) from one point to the next. You usually pick up a package at the bank, and deliver it to a listed target destination. You are then paid a certain amount of money, the delivery percentage, which corresponds to a fraction of the cargo's value._ _These packages are locked (so that you cannot tamper with them), though they still attract looters and other undesirables, who want their shot at attacking couriers and making some bank off of them._ _It is said in courier slang that the more valuable and precious a shipment is, the “hotter” it is, because it attracts the most danger. A shipment of foodstuffs does not attract the same kind of problems as a shipment of weapons or gemstones, for instance!_ _(If you know how to, you can, too, steal from a courier shipment, but it's a bad idea!)_ ``` Delivery hotness: Warm (2) Merchandise: Processed foodstuffs Contents: Chicken, canned Weight: 20 Cargo value: 1500 P$ Delivery percentage: 10% (150 P$) Destination: Semitas, Delicatessen ```

[13-Sep-18 02:00 AM] Tempest#5018 _As you've been told before, when transporting a courier package, you cannot skip travel. This is because of Courier Heat. For each room you pass in the UA, you gain a small amount of Heat. After you reach a target amount of Heat (the hotter the package, the lower the amount), you will find enemies who are after your package._ _Any questions?_

[13-Sep-18 02:01 AM] That One Lass#8377 Nope! No questions! Let's get this package courier'd!

[13-Sep-18 02:03 AM] Tempest#5018 [Item] Courier package - Chicken, canned - Weight: 20 _You take a moment to take the package into your bag..._ BP/Main: 36.99 /40 _All set and ready. This is a **warm** package. Courier Heat will trigger when you hit **160 Heat**. It will update every time you enter a new UA room._

[13-Sep-18 02:09 AM] That One Lass#8377 "Have a good day! I'm off to Semitas, now!" I say, and stretch. Time to move! "Anything else or is that all it?"

[13-Sep-18 02:11 AM] Tempest#5018

    • [Banker]** Unless you need our services, you're good to go. Be safe!

_Ready to leave town?_

[13-Sep-18 02:14 AM] That One Lass#8377 Yup! Let's get going to our destination! Do I have to go deep or is safe an option?

[13-Sep-18 02:15 AM] Tempest#5018 You can go fast, safe, or deep, just not skip.
