Ketamine is an analgesic and anaesthetic drug. It is widely used in both human and veterinary medicine, as well as recreationally. Other than its anaesthetic and analgesic effects, it was used as an experimental antidepressant and has been tested in the treatment of alcohol addiction, with limited success. Recreationally, consumers of ketamine have been reported to suffer from loss of memory and mild hallucinations. It has several street names, most of which refer to the first letter K, such as "Special K", "Kit Kat", and so on.
Strategy
Ketamine is one of the major analgesic (aka painkiller) drugs in Mazeworld. Its main effect is to decrease Pain while making the contestant suffer from other negative side-effects.
Ketamine reduces Pain by a non-negligible 50%, but causes forgetfulness, a condition where the contestant will forget 1d6 identified items in his/her backpack, reverting to calling them by their unidentified forms. It may also cause amusing effects, such as forgetting temporarily his/her own name, the name of his/her eventual ally, and so on.
Aside from the usual methods of finding (at random in the rooms or purchased in a hospital room), ketamine can notably be found in MEDAID2 crates. Furthermore, a guaranteed Ketamine vial can be found in Mission A8; there is one in the chest of the fourth room.
Being a vial, it is strongly required the drug is kept until the contestant finds a medic or a peaceful scientist to identify the pill, as it shares its appearance with ADBAC, Merbromin, Sodium nitrite antidote, Sperm serum, Yohimbine and a vial form of placebo.
