Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, is a widely used and well-known analgesic drug. Known in the real-life world by several trade names such as Actimin, Panadol, Tylenol, Efferalgan and many others.
The substance is commonly used as an analgesic (painkiller) and an antipyretic (fever reduction), it is known for having little to no adverse effects provided the doses are not too high. It is however, an easily abused drug, and overdosing on paracetamol may cause liver failure, resulting in poisoning. It is one of the most common causes of poisoning worldwide.
