A lighter is a key item in Mazeworld. It is a small object mounted on a wristband, which produces a small flame. Lighters are fire-starters, but insufficient for offensive purposes. They may, however, be used to light certain objects.

Lighters have limited fuel, up to 300 lighter fuel units. Certain objects require the use of a lighter; if the lighter is used to light these objects, 1 unit of lighter fuel will be used. The items are as follows:

Any object that can be lit with a lighter may also be lit with safety matches instead. The safety matches must be immediately accessible in order to be used, but otherwise work similarly as the lighter; 1 match will be depleted per use.
