A lighter is a key item in Mazeworld. It is a small object mounted on a wristband, which produces a small flame. Lighters are fire-starters, but insufficient for offensive purposes. They may, however, be used to light cigarettes and joints, or in general, anything flammable.

Lighters can also be used as a melee weapon, although they deal no damage by itself. However, should that attack succeed, it will in most cases set the enemy on fire, which causes constant Pain at a rate of 5% per turn until the victim puts off the fire, or dies.
