The Bleeding stats are counted as one stat, and is one of the vital statistics tracked on every contestant.

It is both a rate and a counter.

Bleeding rate

The Bleeding rate is determined by the amount of wounds on the contestant's body (Every wound adds 10% to this rate). Between every turn, a random number between 1 and 100 is drawn, if the amount is equal or lower to the rate, the contestant will bleed.

The bleeding rate can only be influenced by curing wounds. For more information about this, please visit the wound article.

Bleeding counter

The Bleeding counter is exactly that: it counts the amount of times the contestant bled. This counter starts at 0 and can go up to 20. If this counter attains 20, the contestant dies from blood loss.

This counter may increase if:

  • The contestant made a bleeding roll and scored low enough to bleed; it'll increase by 1 if it happens
  • The contestant has been shot and suffered 25% or more Pain per bullet (or buckshot shell); in this case, the counter will increase by the amount of bullets. (Example: Three shots causing 21% of Pain each will cause a total of 63% of Pain but no bleeding. On the other hand, three shots causing 30% of Pain each will cause a total of 90% of Pain, and bleeding 3 times.)

Several ill effects can be suffered from bleeding too much, such as blood pressure drops.
It must be noted that a specific trap has been designed specifically to make the contestant lose blood without tearing a wound: the Syringe claw trap, which extracts the equivalent of one turn of bleeding, increasing the counter by 1.

Amount of times bled Effects suffered
Under 10 times No ill effects
10 to 14 times Blood pressure drop: Decreased strength, Failure threshold +1
15 to 19 times Mental and physical damage: Decreased strength x2, Failure threshold +2
20 times and more Death from blood loss
  • If the contestant bled 10 to 14 times, he/she will start to feel weaker, as his/her strength will be reduced and his/her accuracy hindered. It remains a manageable condition with the right buffs, but the main danger comes from bleeding even more.
  • If the contestant bled 15 times or more, blood pressure drops even more, rendering the contestant's skin paler. It will cause mild mental damage, as there is now a very insufficient amount of blood circulating in the body, and as such, in the brain. This causes doubled strength reduction and a severe drop in accuracy, as well as putting the contestant on the verge of death.

Treatment

It is possible to cure blood loss problems. Either by using a Blood Transfusion Kit, in cases of emergency, or preferably by visiting a medic, as they possess blood transplant equipment and banks of blood.

Nevertheless, wounds should be carefully watched and treated as soon as possible before their amount gets too hard to manage, or the amount of times bled too high.
