Morphine is a well-known analgesic substance. It is an opiate, like other drugs such as codeine, with which it is closely related (both are produced from opium poppy plants). It is commonly used in medicine as a strong painkiller, against acute and severe pain, used in many situations such as the treatment of myocardial infections, Caesarean sections, and more.

Morphine has also been known for being used recreationally, as it is a substance known for causing addictions, and strong withdrawal, typical of opioids. Morphine pills, known as MS Contin among other names, are commonly used, although morphine may be administered through other ways, such as intravenous injection via syringe.
Demethylated codeine with pyridine may also be used to illegally manufacture morphine, and said substance can be acetylated to produce heroin.

Strategy

Morphine is one of the major analgesic (aka painkiller) drugs in Mazeworld, and is the most powerful against Pain compared to the others. Like its close cousin codeine, its main effect causes Pain decreases along with other negative side-effects.

In this case, Pain is relieved by 75%, which is 25% more than Ketamine, the closest substance in Pain relieving efficiency.
When administered, morphine also serves as a powerful anti-aphrodisiac with its potent Libido -4d25 effect. Morphine is as such one of the most powerful libido-reducing substances in the Mazes.

Morphine's only negative effect, but quite important one, is a reduction of Strength by 30%. It is extremely detrimental to melee weapon users, but the drug is notable for not affecting accuracy. It should be saved for Pain or pregnancy emergencies, due to its cost and high efficiency.

Being a syringe, it is strongly required the drug is kept until the contestant finds a medic or a peaceful scientist to identify the pill, as it shares its appearance with Cyanide, Epinephrine, Heroin, Lorazepam, and a form of Placebo.
