Broken limbs are injuries where bones suffer sufficient damage to become fractured or damaged. A broken limb is also called a fracture.
The amount of broken limbs, as well as which ones, is one of the vital statistics tracked on every contestant in Mazeworld.

The chart on the right indicates all of the possible areas that can suffer fractures:

  • Red: Head (skull)
  • Light blue: Body (Includes both "Upper body" and "Lower body".)
  • Blue: Arms
  • Orange: Hands
  • Light green: Legs
  • Yellow: Feet

Causes

A fracture is created in most cases when the contestant is hit on a body part that wasn't properly protected to withstand strong Blunt-type damage; a fracture will form if Blunt-type damage deals at least 25% of Pain and strikes a body part that can be fractured.

Effects and cures

Depending on what and how many fractures the contestant suffers, the following effects may occur:

  • One broken arm: Failure threshold +1 and Strength -10%
  • Two broken arms: Failure threshold +2 and Strength -20%
  • One broken leg: Slows down the contestant (NEGATES the effects of increased alertness) and prevents him/her from kicking, running or jumping
  • Two broken legs: Failure threshold +1 and Slows down the contestant (NEGATES increased alertness) and prevents him/her from walking normally, kicking, running or jumping
  • One broken hand: Failure threshold +1
  • Two broken hands: Failure threshold +2
  • One broken foot: Slows down the contestant (NEGATES the effects of increased alertness) and prevents him/her from kicking, running or jumping
  • Two broken feet: Failure threshold +1 and Slows down the contestant (NEGATES increased alertness) and prevents him/her from walking normally, kicking, running or jumping
  • Broken ribs: Pain sensitivity +10%
  • Skull fracture: The contestant suffers from concussion; Failure threshold +1 and Strength -10%

Broken limbs are impossible to cure through medical aids. The contestant will have to wait until he/she finds a medic.
A limb can become unbreakable through the use of certain bionic implants. In this case, it will be able to withstand damage that would normally break bones.
