.300 AAC Blackout (also known as .300 Blackout, .300 BLK and more rarely, 7.62x35mm) is a rifle cartridge developed by Advanced Armament Corporation, made specifically to answer to a specific need: make a cartridge that would fit in STANAG magazines (and by proxy, AR-15/M4 rifles) capable of achieving ballistics equal or similar to that of the quintessential AK caliber, 7.62x39mm.

In the Mazes, it is one of the so-called rare calibers, ammunition for which no standard production firearms and no boxed ammunition exists, but for which certain Maze Customs services are available.
