Wounds, or more accurately open wounds, are injuries where the skin is torn enough so an opening, or a rip, is created. The amount of wounds, as well as their location, is one of the vital statistics tracked on every contestant in Mazeworld.

The chart on the left indicates all of the possible areas that can be wounded:

  • Red: Head
  • Light blue: Torso
  • Blue: Left Arm and Right Arm
  • Orange: Left Hand and Right Hand
  • Light green: Left Leg and Right Leg
  • Yellow: Left Foot and Right Foot

Causes

A wound is created in most cases when the contestant is hit on a body part that wasn't properly protected to withstand Dharp-type or Piercing-type damage. A body part must be at least Resistant to one of these types of damage, for the hit not to create a wound. (Pain will still be withstood. More information on the protection chart page)

  • Wounding may also occur as the resulting effect of wounding self.
  • PERMANENT open wounds are created from severed limbs and CANNOT be treated even by a medic.

Effects and cures

  • Every time a wound is opened, the contestant loses 1 unit of blood. An open wound adds 10% to the Bleeding chances rate. As shown on the upper right chart, there are 10 locations where wounds may appear: Head, upper body, both arms, both hands, both legs and both feet.
  • Certain medical aids may cure wounds:
    • Bandages cure one wound each.
    • One vial of Merbromin can be used to cure all wounds at once. It is best used when bandages are scarce or unavailable.
  • Certain encounters may also treat the contestant's wounds aside from the medic:
    • Angels make the contestant's wounds disappear upon meeting one.
    • Hakutaku are experts of herbal medicine, and will gladly cure all of the contestant's wounds if you give him/her something to eat.
    • The Resting area has a nurse that is able to treat all wounds, in addition to a fraction of Pain and beds that allow for 20-turn resting.
