Weapon customization services rely on the principle of weapon families - specific firearms belonging to the same family (typically they share the same base design) are eligible for extensive customization, due to innate design and/or popularity of the platform. There are 10 firearm families which can receive various types of modifications.
Firearms may also be customized visually - they simply serve to give a more unique description to the firearm, with the use of paint jobs and color schemes. Visual modifications can be done on any weapon, even if it doesn't belong to one of the Customs families, and bear no influence on the actual performance of the weapon.

Each Customs family will be detailed, along with the customization options available in each.

  • NOTE: For all families, the Contestant and his/her eventual allies cannot purchase more than 3 custom magazines per type and per visit; furthermore, non-custom magazines (i.e. which is used by one or more stock firearms) are not sold here.

1911 Single Stack (1911SS)

This semi-automatic pistol platform is based on the well-known 1911 design, which in the Mazes is most well known in its .45 ACP iteration, the Colt M1911A1. 1911SS pistols use a slim profile and single-stack magazines. Though this platform is not putting emphasis on specific tactical doodads, they are praised for their high durability and reliability, ease of use, and ease of maintenance, and are primarily destined for people looking for the most dependable handgun family they can find.

Legacy calibers

Nonstandard calibers

Note: All "Custom" magazines for 1911SS pistols weigh 0.5 units empty.
/!\: 1911SS pistols chambered in .40 S&W can re-use the 1911 Fastback Nightmare's magazines, as .40 S&W and .357 SIG have the same base diameter, however be careful to note that .40 S&W pistols cannot shoot .357 SIG and vice versa. A warning will be given if you are trying to load the wrong type of ammunition in your firearm.

Barrel (1911SS)

Barrel threading: Available for all calibers.

  • Allows mounting of muzzle accessories. When a firearm is rechambered, the new barrel is not threaded by default, as such this service must be used if he/she wants the new barrel to be threaded.

Barrel porting

  • Drills holes in the barrel and the slide of the weapon, which acts as an integrated muzzle brake of sorts. Provides the weapon with a natural Recoil -1 bonus. Does not preclude installing a proper muzzle brake for extra recoil reduction.
    • WARNING: If your barrel is ported, the use of a silencer is possible but rendered useless - stealth shots are impossible with a ported barrel (the firearm is too loud).

Barrel material change

  • This service allows the firearm to withstand high-pressure ammunition with less ill effects, by installing a more resistant barrel and feeding ramp. They also increase the overall durability of the firearm. See below for more information on barrel material changes.
    • NOTE: If a firearm previously equipped with a high-resistance barrel is re-chambered, an equivalent barrel will be provided free of charge, and needs not to be re-purchased.

Other modifications (1911SS)

Rail mounts

  • Allows the mounting of either a Small scope (2x) or an EOTech MRDS reflex sight.

Visual modifications: See here for a list of preset color schemes.

1911 Double Stack (1911DS)

Operating on the same principle as the 1911SS platform, 1911DS are also semi-automatic pistols based on the 1911 design, but this variant had to be differentiated due to their larger profile, allowing the use of larger magazines. Durable and reliable, though not as much as their 1911SS equivalents, the double stack platform more than makes up with nearly double standard magazine capacity.

Blackhawk

The Blackhawk family is a single-action revolver platform based on the Ruger Blackhawk and its variants. Although single-action firearms are slower to use than double-action revolvers or pistols of any kind, they compensate with a wide offering of calibers, and unmatched durability and reliability, as is typical with heavy single-action revolvers. Built to withstand powerful loads such as .44 Magnum or .454 Casull, there is almost no pistol caliber, bar rare exceptions, that the Blackhawk can't handle.

Legacy calibers/cylinder configurations

Nonstandard calibers/cylinder configurations

Every combination possible of non-standard caliber and cylinder size has a corresponding cartridge holder with the relevant capacity.
The nomenclature is: "Custom <caliber> <capacity>-round cartridge holder".
Example: A Blackhawk customized with a 7-round 10mm Auto cylinder can be supplied with cartridge holders named: "Custom 10mm Auto 7-round cartridge holder".
All cartridge holders and moonclips weigh 0.5 empty.

Barrel length configurations

  • Vaquero configuration: 4.62 inch barrel. Changes the weapon weight to 3 units.
  • Blackhawk configuration: 7.5 inch barrel. Changes the weapon weight to 5 units.
    • Standard on Ruger Blackhawk.
  • Super Blackhawk configuration: 7.5 inch barrel, railed. Changes the weapon weight to 5 units, and makes it compatible with the Small scope (2x).
    • Standard on the Ruger Super Blackhawk.

L-Frame

Based on the family of Smith & Wesson revolvers of the same name, L-Frame revolvers offer a wide variety of calibers and customization options with the advantages of a sturdy double-action revolver. Though this platform may not match the extreme resistance to use and abuse the Blackhawk platform can handle, L-Frames remain firearms of exceptional quality. It must be noted that the only caliber the L-Frame will not handle compared to Blackhawks, is .454 Casull. .45 Colt remains compatible, though.

Legacy calibers/cylinder configurations

Nonstandard calibers/cylinder configurations

Every combination possible of non-standard caliber and cylinder size has a corresponding speedloader or moonclip.
The nomenclature is: "Custom L-Frame <capacity>-round <caliber> <speedloader/moonclip>".
Example: An L-Frame customized with a 5-round .44 Magnum cylinder can be supplied with speedloaers named: "Custom .44 Magnum 5-round speedloaders".
NOTE: Certain calibers are preceded with a *: this denotes the cartridge is rimless and moonclips will be supplied instead of cartridge holders. The only practical difference between a speedloader and a moonclip is that a moonclip is inserted into the gun (like a magazine on semi-autos), while a speedloader empties the rounds it holds then returns to the inventory. Keep this in mind for inventory management.
All speedloaders weigh 0.5 empty.

Glock-SF

The Glock family of semi-automatic handguns is represented in the Maze Customs in two distinct families: Glock Short Frame (Glock-SF) and Glock Large Frame (Glock-LF). At the exception of the straight blowback Glock 25, all of the Glocks in the Mazes are found in those two families. Reputed for being lightweight, sturdy pistols with exceptional resistance to abuse, the capacity to function even in the direst of environments, they are part of the Customs family as the semi-automatic pistol platform which may receive an extreme variety of modifications, up and including to the highly popular, Glock 18-derived auto sear, which allows the weapon to function as a machine pistol.

The Glock Short Frame family is named as such because it designates Glock pistols built on the frame and slide size specifications of the original Glock 17, chambered in 9x19mm.

Glock-LF

The Glock family of semi-automatic handguns is represented in the Maze Customs in two distinct families: Glock Short Frame (Glock-SF) and Glock Large Frame (Glock-LF). At the exception of the straight blowback Glock 25, all of the Glocks in the Mazes are found in those two families. The Glock Large Frame family is named as such because it designates Glock pistols built on the frame and slide size specifications of the Glock 20, specially designed to accomodate for the long 10mm Auto cartridge. From it was derived the Glock 21, its .45 ACP variant, because the .45 ACP cartridge was unsuitable for use in the Small Frame platform. As such, the Glock-LF is tailored for long handgun cartridges, and large calibers; with real-life rechambering options existing in calibers up to .50.

MP5

As the fan favorite submachine gun in the Mazes, loved and favored by many, the MP5 is available in the Customs as the full-size submachine gun platform, with all of the renowned advantages that made the MP5 famous. With unmatched durability and reliability, various customization options, and of course, the submachine gun's ever-popular compatibility with accessories, this Customs family is one of the most popular, and a fan favorite of many Class 2 weapon enthusiasts. Only the compact MP5K is not included in this family as it is not a full-size variant.

AR-15

No customs atelier would be worthy of bearing the name if it wasn't working on the ubiquitous and almost legendary AR-15 platform, often nicknamed the "Black Rifles", after their standard color when visually unmodified. With its origins tied in the M16/M4 family of assault rifles, the AR-15's excellent modularity and almost endless combination of customization options more than make up for its average durability and reliability. The military is unanimous; if there was only one rifle they could take, it might very well be an AR-15 family one.

Kalashnikov (AK)

The Kalashnikov platform, also known as AKs, is the most recent addition to the Maze Customs, yet it is as complete and diverse as if it was there since day one. Often compared with AR-15 platform firearms, AK firearms may have slightly less affinity to customization than the Black Rifles, they are without mistake the absolute kings of durability and reliability among the Customs family, certainly capable of lasting a youkai's lifetime.

Remington 700 (Rem 700)

Rifles based on the Remington 700 platform set the standard when it comes to bolt-action rifles, and as such it is natural that it became the relevant Customs family. Offered in a wide variety of calibers while retaining all of the advantages of this rifle family, Rem 700 firearms may not be highly customizable, but they are primarily intended for people seeking to squeeze the most out of their favorite caliber, with accuracy, reliability and dependability being the key descriptors.

Black Arrow (BA)

Based on the Zastava M93 Black Arrow, of which it is the sole member of this peculiar family, the Black Arrow rifle platform is essentially an upscaled Mauser platform, putting emphasis on anti-matériel role. As such, the name of the game is extreme power. Again, it may not be the must customizable of families, but what it has to offer may interest those seeking a weapon suitable to destroy the biggest of targets.

  • Allows mounting of muzzle accessories. When a firearm is rechambered, the new barrel is not threaded by default, as such this service must be used if he/she wants the new barrel to be threaded.

Other modifications (BA)

Reduced Weight program

  • Though the barrel remains unmodified to preserve accuracy, the chassis and stock are replaced with lighter materials, such as titanium and aircraft aluminium.
    • Changes the weapon weight to 22 units.

Visual modifications: See here for a list of preset color schemes.
